Tuesday Musings

Hey!
I'm back!
It has been a busy couple weeks and this week is going to be even busier!
As you know, I have been coaching a summer swim team and this is the last week.
I have a swim meet today, tomorrow will probably be working in hay, Thursday I have our last practice, Friday we have a preliminary meet in the evening, and early Saturday morning we have our championship meet!
Hopefully, I can post a couple more post during the week.
It does make a difference if you don't have any wi-fi.
I've actually quite enjoy having no internet.
I don't get on the computer near as often without it!
It has been so wonderful and relaxing!
Are you able to get by without internet?

My time is drawing to a close.
Gotta start the day now!
Oh before I go, I designed my swim team shirt.

It doesn't look exactly like that but close enough!
Well, I got to go!
Have  a blessed day!

Artsy Tuesday

Art time!
Today it is digital and I only have a couple pictures, because I am somewhat pressed for time.
Anyway, enough chit-chat!

This guy is on my desktop background right now.
I am quite pleased with how he turned out.

You have already seen this lovely lady.
She was a pencil sketch from Ion's gallery.

Sorry to cut this short but I "have many miles to go before I sleep".
Kudos if you know what I just quoted!
Have a lovely day.

Tuesday Musings

What makes one smart?
By what standard is one brilliant?
Perhaps it is from reading intellectual books or by the studying of maths and sciences.
Do you have to be able to make strong presentations?
Must you take part in debates?
Hmmm. . .
What if those are only a few ways to define being smart?
There are many people in this world who don't read often, if at all.
People who don't study the sciences, who can't deliver a stirring speech.
Yet, these people are some of the smartest people.
You don't think so?
I know of a man who can fix practically any machine.
He has said he read one book in school and that was good enough for him.
Though he has read many manuals.
There are people who can look at the shift in the weather and predict it better than the weather report on the news can.
Why, there are even people who, after hearing a description of what an animal sounded like, can tell if the animal is wounded, how long it has been, and where the wound is.
The man I am thinking of, for this example, hunted man-eating tigers for three decades.
The point I am trying to make is that you are smart.
Even if you can't figure out math, solve some science problem, or are terrible at speaking.
You have a unique gift that God has given you.
It can be writing, art, mechanics, whatever.
Do not think I am telling you that you don't have to study.
No, by all means, study what you are good at.
Develop it.
Make it better.
It will take years.
A lifetime before you reach your best.
Even then, it won't be the greatest.
There are always others who will be better than you.
Should you stop when you get discouraged after seeing others excel?
Absolutely not!
Strive, push yourself, never give up.
God gave you these gifts.
If you use them for worldly gain. . .
You will never be fulfilled.
Use them for God's glory and you will experience unimaginable joy!
This is my encouragement to you, my dear friends.

Tuesday Musings

Hi!
Boy, when the internet isn't working good and you've got a full day on the same day when you are supposed to put a post on... Well, you know what happens.
Last Thursday I spent my day making phone calls, texts, and emails.
Getting things ready for a fun swim meet.
Which turned out pretty good.
Then Saturday we, my siblings and I, went with some friends, and kayaked done the Hiwasee river.
That was an absolute blast!
It was chilly, it rained, it got warm, it rained, and then the sun came out!
We had a little bit of everything.
I hope you all had a wonderful week.
And to make it up to you here is a little bit of what I have been doing art-wise.
Watercolor!
I did photoshop it a little bit so you could see the colors.
And here is a preview for Thursday:

Have a blessed day!

Tuesday Musings

Hello, this is Jenny!
Surprise!
This isn't an art post but more like a random thoughts post
I am just sitting at the counter eating lunch, listening to the Transformers soundtrack, knowing that if I don't do something now I never will.
So here I am.
Trying to think of something.
I feel a little frazzled today.
Sarah and I went to a friends house to exercise, P90X, it's awesome!
Then when we got home and I had to finish some things up for tonight's swim meet.
If you don't know, I am the head coach for a summer swim team.
Oh, it has been loads of fun, I have about 31 kids ranging from 5 to 15 years old.
I just finished writing up cards for events, then I think I shall have a little rest after this.

We have been busy for the past week.
Last Tuesday we went to Amicalola, Georgia, and hiked 604 steps to the top of a waterfall, then hiked down on a trail, it was beautiful and fun, the whole family went except Jamin, our brother.
He's got a job now and he is applying for a technical school here in town.
Then Saturday the whole family, and Jamin, that's 14 of us, went yard selling and then to a tractor show in Crossville.
We were watching a tractor pull, when it started to pour rain.
It was absolutely drenching!
So much fun!
After that wen went to Piny Falls.
That was a pretty strenuous hike.
It was just eight of us that time, our little cousins might need to wait a few years for that hike.
Well, I am just rambling right now.
This is actually a start for me to do posts on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
I will see you Thursday with an art post!
Blessings!
