Passage to Ponder

1 Peter 1:18-19
"For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish."

Psalm 94:16-19
"Who stands up for me against the wicked?
Who takes a stand for me against evildoers?
If the Lord had not been my helper,
I would soon rest in the silence of death.
If I say, 'My foot is slipping,'
Your faithful love will support me, Lord,
When I am filled with cares,
Your comfort brings me joy."

Psalm 85:10-13

"Faithful love and truth will join together;
righteousness and peace will embrace.
Truth will spring up from the earth,
and righteousness will look down from heaven.
Also, the Lord will provide what is good,
and our land will yield its crops.
Righteousness will go before Him
to prepare the way for His steps."

V.o.t.D.

2 Chronicles 7:14
"If My people, who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
(emphasis added)

America has chosen.
Once again, Barak Obama has be elected president of the United States of America.
My family believes this could be a sign of judgment on our country.  We have fallen so far from our roots.  Christianity has been hit harder than ever, we are now a minority.

I beseech you, dear readers, to pray for our nation.
I ask you to seek, as a family, our Lord's will.
Remember Israel.  I fear for their country now that Obama has been re-elected.

Do not fear the future.  God is in control!

On my knees,
Sarah

My Hope is In You, Lord

9/11
Trust not in the strength of men, nor heed to their weaknesses, but fully rely in the power of God our King.

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
God, You will bring them [the wicked] down to the Pit of destruction; men of bloodshed and treachery will not live out half their days.  But I will trust in You."
(Psalm 55:22-23)

"I put my hope in You, Lord..."

Acts 3:19
"Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the LORD."

If all the skies were sunshine
Our faces would be fain
To feel once more upon them
The cooling splash of rain.

Proverbs 24:5-6
"A wise warrior is better than a strong one, and a man of knowledge than one of strength; for you should wage war with sound guidance -- victory comes with many counselors."

Verses of the Day

Psalm 119:33-40
"Teach me, LORD, the meaning of Your statutes, and I will always keep them.
Help me understand Your instruction, and I will obey it with all my heart.
Help me stay on the path of Your commands, for I take pleasure in it.
Turn my heart to Your decrees and not to material gain.
Turn my eyes from looking at what is worthless; give me life in Your ways.
Confirm what You said to Your servant, for it produces reverence for You.
Turn away the disgrace I dread; indeed, Your judgments are good.
How I long for Your precepts! Give me life through Your righteousness."

Verse of the Day

Luke 12:27-28
"Consider how the wildflowers grow: They don't labor or spin thread.  Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these!  If that's how God clothes the grass... how much more will He do for you - you of little faith?"

Verse of the Day

But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may reside in me.

Passage of the Day: 1 Peter 3

"And who will harm you if you are deeply committed to what is good?  But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed.  Do not fear what they fear or be disturbed, but honor the Messiah as Lord in you hearts.  Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.  However, do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are accused, those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame.
For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil."
1 Peter 3:13-17, HCSB

Scripture of the Day

Luke 18:9-14
"To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:
'Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.  The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: "God, I thank You that I am not like other men - robbers, evildoers, adulterers - or even like this tax collector.  I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get."
'But the tax collector stood at a distance.  He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, "God, have mercy on me, a sinner."
'I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.' "

Verse of the Day: Ecclesiastes 9:17

"The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools."
